The bible refers to a lot of prophets as “Son of God” – for example: Adam, Jacob, David and Isaac were all referred to as “Son of God” in this context we can discern this was an accepted expression referring to someone who is righteous and in no ways does it mean a physical “Son of God”. The problem arose when Christianity reached Rome, this is where the term “Son of God” was associated to Jesus, it may have been done to appease the masses, who at that time were pagans; and possibly ease the transition into the new religion.
